Ankle Arthroscopy (Keyhole Surgery)
Two tiny cuts. One camera. Faster recovery.
Arthroscopy treats cartilage damage, impingement, loose bodies and instability through 4–5 mm incisions — typically a daycare procedure with far quicker rehabilitation than open surgery.
What “daycare” actually means
Most arthroscopies here are admission-in-the-morning, home-by-evening procedures. You walk with support within days, and stitches are out by two weeks. Return to sport depends on what was treated — typically 6 to 12 weeks.
How Dr. Mohit Prajapati treats it
- 01
Anterior impingement removal
Bony spurs and scar tissue at the front of the ankle are cleared — the classic “footballer’s ankle”.
- 02
Cartilage (osteochondral) treatment
Microfracture and modern cartilage techniques through keyhole access.
- 03
Loose body removal
Free fragments causing locking are retrieved through tiny portals.
- 04
Arthroscopic ligament repair
Instability can often be addressed in the same sitting.
